Celery Treatment for High Blood Pressure

Celery has a compound called 3-n-butyl phthalide which is shown to reduce blood pressure.
It began with the father of a researcher who ate a 1/4 lb of celery a day and lowered his blood pressure from 158/96 (mild-moderately high) to 118/82 (normal) within 1 week.
The researcher then went on to perform studies with a colleague at the University of Chicago Medical Center
It was shown in that in animals, celery lowered blood pressure by 12-14% and cholesterol by about 7%
The human equivalent compared to the study is about 4 rids of celery per day
