Sanare Establishes its Position as a Major Player

Sanare Establishes its Position as a Major Player in the Diabetes Care Industry

Sanare, LLC, a leading provider of care management solutions for people with diabetes, announced today the acquisitions of Great Lakes Medical Supply and Doctor Diabetic Supply.

The acquisitions position Sanare as a major player in the diabetes care industry, consolidating a patient base of over 160,000 and strengthening relationships with key Health Insurance Organizations. In addition, Sanare interacts with 80,000 physicians. "Sanare was founded based on three guiding principles," said Dr. Ron Geraty, the company's CEO. "Empowering people living with diabetes toward self-management and better health outcomes; helping providers improve quality of care; and assisting payers and provider networks in reducing the total cost of diabetes management."

Funded by Bertram Capital in September 2010, Sanare is currently developing the technology platform that is the backbone of its value proposition to patients, health care professionals and health plans. The initiative will improve collaboration between physicians and health care teams and increase transparency at every stage, with the goal of changing patient behaviors to improve outcomes. "It's a revolutionary approach," added Dr. Geraty. "We're very excited about the future and the positive implications it holds for people with diabetes. It's why Sanare is here, and why we've acquired these two solid and well-regarded companies."

Sanare is actively seeking partnership opportunities and add-on acquisitions to complement its strategy of providing both care management services that target people with diabetes and healthcare cost containment solutions that target payors that pay for patients' care.
