Click to enlarge Digital agency Rockfish Interactive has launched a new service that allows companies to create and insert coupons for their products into social media conversation via a force of some 800 Mommy bloggers. The self-serve platform, Coupon Factory, is part coupon creation, part analytics engine and very similar to Google AdWords, chief marketing officer Dave Knox says (via AdAge).
It allows marketers to create their own coupons, which can be digital, print-at-home coupons or coded to be scanned from a smartphone at checkout or loaded directly into a shopper loyalty account, according to AdAge. The distribution network of Mommy bloggers, who will promote the coupons they like, is buttressed by such tools as a Coupon Factory widget that can be used on Facebook fan pages and newsfeeds. Eventually, the company plans to roll out Coupon Factory to local companies and retailers.
The analytics portion of the offering gives brands stats on the number of impressions, clicks, and conversions, Venture Beat says.
The Same But Not Exactly
If all this sounds similar to Groupon and other daily deal sites, that is because it is - which means CouponFactory is entering a very crowded marketplace, Venture Beat notes. But Coupon Factory’s offering is not exactly akin to these sites, Venture Beat goes on to say, which might wind up being a competitive differentiator for the company.
